Casa Orquidea; A Modern Home Design Named After The Owners Hobby by Andrés Remy Arquitectos

Casa Orquidea or in English it means Orchids House is the name of this house by Andrés Remy Arquitectos, but the names doesn’t resemble anything like the beauty of the orchids. The names actually comes from the passion of the owner for growing orchids and this exotic residence also a tale has told that the architecture plans was based upon the flower, stem and roots of the orchid, although to us it’s all a matter of names and design and has no correlation what so ever. Although the name has surface some pros and cons on how can the architect named it, well we really like the modest color of this modern home design. The modern residence was pursued by the terms of sustainability as today’s house designs are in demand for more and more energy efficient consumption and indeed the architect has fulfilled and live up to the challenge. The house shape is very irregular but also geometrical, leaving it very unique towards anyone who’s seeing it.

The T House in Tel Aviv Israel by Marc Topilsky

The T House is a 350 Sq meter two single family residence shared by two sisters and their families located in a suburb of Tel Aviv, Israel created by Architect Marc Topilsky. All vertical structure are steel except the west wall which is sheer concrete – 12 meters high – to resist earthquakes. The house, having no walls on the east side works structurally as a bridge – hung from the west wall.

The roof is a steel structure with 100 meters square and is supported by 4 main – S shaped – steel beams constructed of 2 parts each, one concave and one convex, in the same diameter. This roof is supported to the west by the concrete wall, and to the east (the main courtyard side) by 4 “Mies Barcelona pavilion” style cross columns. The roof cover is dark zinc sheet. All interiors are column free, (except for the red central column) and all devisions are plaster walls.

The house has 3 levels:

Basement: Surrounded by a sunken garden to allow Natural light and ventilation, and is used as an Office by the owner.

Ground floor: This floor is the main public area, the floor plan is L shape with the entry in the angle. Both faces of the L face the central inner courtyard, by an all glass floor to ceiling sliding door system. The arrangement is such that plenty of light is let through but minimal direct sunlight. An imperative condition in hot climate locations as this. One side of the L is the formal living room, 5X5 meters and 3.4 meters high. This space has a low window on the pool edge, a large floor to celling opening towards the main courtyard, ad a 5X1 meter, north facing skylight to allow diffused light for the painting on the wall (the red flower, artist Yoav Ben Dov). The other side of the L is the family room opening on one side to the main courtyard and to the south to an outdoor sitting area and kids playground. The connection between the two sides is the kitchen and main entrance.

First Floor; Reserved for bedrooms, 2 children bedrooms, one communal area and a double height master bedroom, opening to reveal the roof structure. Above the kids bedrooms is an attic with one bedroom suite.

The pool, 14 X 3 meters divides the main courtyard between the two houses.

1911 Beautiful Danish Interior Design Make Over by Katrine Martense-Larsen

I might not be betting on the wrong horse but by any figment of imagination I always recall that the Danish interior design has always look so simple, yet humble and furnished just like this charming house located in Danish town of Frederiksberg. This interior doesn’t look to be like a decade old. It’s been recreated in such manner that this home is really is cozy to live in.

This residence accommodates Danish couple with five kids and it’s no doubt the ideal warmest interior design for a family home type. Designed using clean white and black colors for its interior themes, This beautiful danish home interior looks simple, serene and bright at the same time. Katrine Martensen-Larsen really has design the typical interior of how Danish people daily live. You don’t necessarily need to buy a new home to get the best but you can do it by redecorating like what Katrine has done here.
